To Whom It May Concern:

Friends, Family, and Community Peers to address an influx of calls and emails we are receiving regarding youth baseball and softball in Waller and the surrounding areas. WCSA Board of Directors can assure that 500 + kids will enjoy an exciting brand of ball this season! Our elected members did make a decision based on the best interest of the youth to unaffiliate from Little League International and continue as WCSA. This change will not impact how we conduct our drafts of the regular season. It will however, allow for additional opportunities and enhanced experience for more children in the area! Understand the fees you have paid to WCSA are for the kids to play at WCSA fields and uniforms ect. Little League International just happened to be who was chosen in the past by the WCSA board to go through. Effectively, February 11th, 2015 WCSA has unaffiliated itself with Little League International and conducting business as in the past. There will be some slight changes, but we will make sure all involved will know the outcome of our decisions. At the end of the day our best interest are in our future "The Youth of Waller County" there will be a very informative meeting prior to the draft to help answer any questions anyone might have regarding the changes.

Waller County Baseball

Baseball is a bat-and-ball sport played between two teams of nine players each. The aim is to score runs by hitting a thrown ball with a bat and touching a series of four bases arranged at the corners of a ninety-foot diamond. Players on the batting team take turns hitting against the pitcher of the fielding team, which tries to stop them from scoring runs by getting hitters out in any of several ways. A player on the batting team can stop at any of the bases and later advance via a teammate's hit or other means. The teams switch between batting and fielding whenever the fielding team records three outs. One turn at bat for each team constitutes an inning and nine innings make up a professional game. The team with the most runs at the end of the game wins.

Waller County Softball

Softball is a bat-and-ball sport played between two teams of nine to fourteen players. It is a direct descendant of baseball although there are some key differences: softballs are larger than baseballs, and the pitches are thrown underhand rather than overhand. Softball is played on a smaller diamond than in baseball; a softball field's average distances from home plate to the center, left and right field fences are 220 feet (67 meters) for females and 250 feet (75 meters) for males (the corresponding baseball field average distances are 410 for center field and 325 feet for left & right field [125 and 99 meters]).
